How do I get my rabbit to use the cottage?
Rabbits are extremely curious, and really downright nosy. It is highly likely that your bunny will explore and enjoy spending time in the cottage on his own. However, if he is feeling shy and you feel that you'd like to encourage him, put a treat or handful of his favorite hay inside to entice him.
My bunny is chewing the cottage. What should I do?
It is in rabbits' nature to explore the world around them by chewing, and some bunnies may elect to "redesign" their cottages by chewing away at the window or door openings. There is no harm in this, however be sure that he is not actually ingesting large amounts of cardboard.
Is the ink safe?
Absolutely, yes. Our water-based inks have been specifically tested at a veterinary toxicology lab, and all have been confirmed to be chew-safe for rabbits.
The cottage is so cute -- I don't have a rabbit, but now I want to get one. Should I?
Please, absolutely DO NOT adopt or buy a rabbit just because you think the cottage is cute! (and yes, we have indeed had that question!) If you don't currently have a rabbit and are considering one as a pet, please by all means, LEARN ABOUT RABBITS FIRST! They are wonderful pets, and can live up to 10 years or more. This is a serious commitment, so you will want to be sure that your household and personality will be compatible with a rabbit's. Visit our links section for some excellent resources.
Can I buy the cottage anyplace else besides this website?

Can other animals (i.e. dogs, cats, guinea pigs) use the cottage?
Although the cottage was originally designed with rabbits in mind, other small animals can use it as well. In fact, we know lots of kitty cats who love it! If you are purchasing a cottage for any type of animal other than a rabbit, remember that the doorway opening is 7" high and 8" wide, and the cottage itself is 14" across the front and back, 20" along the sides, and is 19" high at the tip top of the roof.
